with a membership of about 350 qualified Insolvency Practitioners, Lawyers

What is AIPSA?
AIPSA is a non-profit Association formed by Insolvency Practitioners
in 1986. It enjoys a membership of approximately 350. Its members are made
up predominantly of Lawyers, Chartered Accountants and qualified Insolvency
Practitioners.
The Association was set up to achieve professionalism in the Insolvency
Industry in South Africa. It is governed by Articles of Association and
includes a Code of Conduct that members are expected to follow. Members
are also expected to conduct all their business in a professional manner.
There is a Council of 12 members who are elected to serve on the Council.
Re-election of the Council takes place at the Annual General Meeting every
second year. The Annual General Meeting is held towards the end of each
calendar year.
AIPSA Objectives
- Uphold and improve standards of professionalism and
qualifications of Practitioners
- Encourage the study of the Laws relating to insolvency
and administration of assets and liabilities of Insolvent Individuals,
Corporations or Companies
- Initiate and promote improvements to the Law of Insolvency
and the practice of the law in co-operation with relevant Government
Departments.
- Discipline Members for any infringement of the code
of Professional Conduct.
AIPSA Mission Statement
To create a transparent environment in which our members irrespective
of race, creed or gender, can practice their profession in accordance with
the constitution of the Republic of South Africa, so as to provide an effective,
professional service to all stakeholders by skilled, independent practitioners
with the highest integrity and being mindful of:
- community interests;
- the Constitutional Rights of individuals;
- and a sustainable economy.
