Why Belong to AIPSA?

• AIPSA has been in existence for over 24 years and enjoys an excellent reputation.
• Our members receive regular updates on Insolvency issues via email, benefiting members from the collective research and experience of an entire association.
• Reference may be made to your membership of AIPSA on your letterhead.
• Members are issued with a certificate stating that you belong to a registered Insolvency Association such as AIPSA – banks are starting to request proof of this.
• More and more these days, the Masters’ offices are asking as to whether an individual is an AIPSA (or AABIP) member when considering their application to get onto a specific Master’s panel of liquidators.
• Our website is currently being updated and soon members will have access to ongoing insolvency related legal opinions, judgments and council reports.
• Members can attend our regular regional and national workshops.
• AIPSA holds an Annual Insolvency Conference with high profile speakers on current topics.
• Government is leaning towards regulating the profession which may entail practitioners being compelled to belong to a recognised association. The more practitioners who belong to AIPSA the more pressure can be exerted on Government for statutory recognition and “licensing” of practitioners”.  AIPSA is  often involved in and consulted on policy making issues.
• When joining AIPSA you can also become a member of INSOL International - International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals.  We hold a Directorship on the board, being one of the 10 largest insolvency organisations in the world.  By belonging to INSOL you will have access to their worldwide database of members , this will enable you to  network and share ideas and knowledge. You will also have the ability to join forums, electronically or otherwise,  to discuss legal issues and issues which are of interest to the general body of members.
• AIPSA has grown in strength and numbers with a total practising and non-practising membership of over 320 members.  Together with AABIP we have formed IPSSA -Insolvency Practitioners Society of South Africa.
