Johannesburg Master's Office

Requisition of Files

The Master of the High Court – Johannesburg received a directive from the Director General regarding the access to files in the Masters offices. The directive no.2 2008 set up procedures to be followed when members of the public would want to peruse files.

As a result of this directive the Master of the High Court – Johannesburg has developed a template to be utilized by all stakeholders when requesting to peruse a file.

Please note that the directive is effective as from 29 April 2008. No file or copy of a file is to be made available before the request form has been completed. The Head of Section or Head of office is required to approve the request before the file is made available to the client. A period of 48 hours will be required to enable personnel to locate the file. A letter on your company’s letterhead should accompany this form.
